Mayor’s Message

On behalf of my Council and the City of Dawson Creek, I would personally like to thank everyone who took the time to attend the Alaska Highway International Forum in Dawson Creek. The Forum by all accounts was a major achievement.

Reflecting on the valuable experience of traveling from Dawson Creek to Delta Junction and Fairbanks, Alaska on the Alaska Highway Legacy Tour, I would like to thank all those who joined the tour and contributed to its success. The “Alaska Highway is our main street” and we must work cooperatively to ensure this critical transportation route is acknowledged and managed as an important icon.

The City of Dawson Creek recognizes the significance of the Alaska Highway corridor as an economic life line for northern communities and as a world class destination to be preserved for its historic, cultural and wilderness values.

As Interim Chair, I look forward to working cooperatively with all communities and stakeholders along the Alaska Highway corridor to create a unified vision for the long-term benefit of this great highway.
